Prof. Dr. Gunadi, M.Sc., Ak. is a leading figure in the field of taxation in Indonesia with more than 40 years of experience as an academic, practitioner, and national fiscal policy maker. He currently serves as a Permanent Professor at the University of Indonesia and Chair of the Tax Center at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, UI.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Gadjah Mada University, followed by a Master’s degree from the Institute of Public Finance in The Hague (Netherlands), and a Doctorate in International Taxation and Law from Leiden University. From 2018 to 2019, the holder of a Master of Public Finance from the University of The Hague and a Doctorate in International Taxation from Leiden University in the Netherlands served as Chair of the Indonesian Republic’s tax supervisory committee. He has also served as Rector of the Indonesian Tax College and advisor to the Indonesian Tax Legal Aid Foundation.

Throughout his career, Prof. Gunadi has held various strategic positions in government agencies and the professional sector, including Deputy Head of PPATK, Director of Tax Examination and Investigation at the Directorate General of Taxes, and Chair of the Taxation Supervisory Committee. He was also active as a member of the IAI Accounting Standards Board, Deputy Chair of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) in the field of research, analysis, and inter-agency cooperation (2006-2011). Director of Income Tax (PPh) (2000-2001) and Director of Tax Examination, Investigation, Collection, and Seizure (2002-2006), as well as a commissioner and advisor at a number of national companies.

As an author and thinker in the field of taxation, Prof. Gunadi has published various scientific works and books that have become important references in the Indonesian tax world, including Transfer Pricing, Tax Accounting, and International Taxation.
